Budget Inside the park Owner/family-run

Engiri stands in the Katunguru fishing enclave, 300 m off the Kasese to Mbarara road and inside the park's outer boundary, though on village ground rather than a wilderness concession. It carries the widest price ladder in the park, running from a $15 pitch to a deluxe family room on full board. The channel bridge and the Mweya turning are minutes away, while Ishasha stays three hours to the south.

What the park charges on top

The rate above buys you a bed. Queen Elizabeth National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Park entryCharged per 24 hours rather than per night.
$40per person, per day
VehicleA Ugandan-registered 4x4, the usual hire car, at UGX 30,000; a foreign-registered 4x4 pays $150.
$8per vehicle, per day

Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $264 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.

Entry is sold in 24-hour blocks that begin when you pass the gate, so a trip that starts at midday and ends at 16:00 two days later is charged as three days, not two.

Every figure on this page is in US dollars.

Indicative 2026 rates, read in September 2026 from each property's own website, rate card or factsheet. Twenty-three of the forty-two publish a rack rate of their own. The other nineteen say on request, and no agent or tour operator figure has been used to fill a gap. Watch the basis, because it decides whether two numbers can be compared at all: some quote per person per night sharing, others per room, per tent or per cottage, and meals sit inside some rates and outside others. Park entry is extra almost everywhere at $40 per foreign non-resident adult per 24 hours, plus the vehicle, and the Kazinga Channel cruise is $30 on top.

Questions about Engiri Game Lodge & Campsite

How much does it cost to stay at Engiri Game Lodge?

Engiri runs the widest price ladder in the park, from $15 a night for camping without meals up to $100 for a deluxe family room on full board, in the camp's 2026/2027 rack rate. The card sits on the site as an image and two readings of it differ slightly, so confirm the exact figure before you pay, and note that settlement is in US dollars or shillings only.

Is Engiri Game Lodge good for families?

Yes. Engiri's own child policy is published in full: up to two children aged 5 and under sharing a room with parents stay free, those aged 6 to 10 pay half the adult price, and guests 12 and older pay the full adult rate. The lodge also has a deluxe family room and a self-contained family tent among its six room grades.

Can you self-drive to Engiri Game Lodge?

Yes. The lodge sits 300 metres off the main Kasese to Mbarara road at Katunguru, inside the park's outer boundary on village rather than concession ground, which makes it an easy stop to find by road. The lodge's own site gives no further self-drive directions beyond that, so confirm the turning when you book.

What does the rate at Engiri Game Lodge include?

Engiri's rate runs on a per person, per night basis in three board options: bed and breakfast, half board and full board, across six room and tent grades. Single meals are also priced separately at $15 to $25, so you can add one without changing board basis. Park entrance fees are not mentioned as included, so budget for them separately.
