Kikorongo Safari Lodge
Luxury tents and cottages · Kikorongo village, on the equator · The Thembo family, since April 2018. Tilenga Safari Lodge is the sister property.
Kikorongo Safari Lodge stands on a hill in Kikorongo village at the equator crossing, in the corner where the Kasenyi road meets the routes to Kasese and Bwera. The site never says which side of the boundary it occupies, so treat entry as an extra and read the area note. The Kasenyi plains are the obvious morning drive from here and the Rwenzori foothills lie in the other direction.

What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Queen Elizabeth National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.
- Park entryCharged per 24 hours rather than per night.
- $40per person, per day
- VehicleA Ugandan-registered 4x4, the usual hire car, at UGX 30,000; a foreign-registered 4x4 pays $150.
- $8per vehicle, per day
Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $264 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.
Entry is sold in 24-hour blocks that begin when you pass the gate, so a trip that starts at midday and ends at 16:00 two days later is charged as three days, not two.

Every figure on this page is in US dollars.
Indicative 2026 rates, read in September 2026 from each property's own website, rate card or factsheet. Twenty-three of the forty-two publish a rack rate of their own. The other nineteen say on request, and no agent or tour operator figure has been used to fill a gap. Watch the basis, because it decides whether two numbers can be compared at all: some quote per person per night sharing, others per room, per tent or per cottage, and meals sit inside some rates and outside others. Park entry is extra almost everywhere at $40 per foreign non-resident adult per 24 hours, plus the vehicle, and the Kazinga Channel cruise is $30 on top.
Questions about Kikorongo Safari Lodge
Is Kikorongo Safari Lodge good for a honeymoon?
Yes, the lodge names a specific honeymoon cottage, the Kambere, among its premium rooms, and describes the premium category generally as suited to honeymooners. No plunge pool or private deck is mentioned for it specifically, so ask what the Kambere cottage includes when you book, and compare it against the standard premium layout.
How much does Kikorongo Safari Lodge cost?
The newest rate card the lodge publishes covers 2024/2025, two seasons old by now, with a premium double or twin from $240 on bed and breakfast up to $280 on full board, per room per night. Meals and water are included; bar drinks, laundry, souvenirs and transfers are excluded, and card payments carry a 5 percent surcharge. Confirm current pricing before you book, since no newer card is published.
Is Kikorongo Safari Lodge good for families?
Yes. Children pay a flat $50 sharing a room with parents or $75 in a room of their own, and the lodge has a children's play area on site alongside the pool. The lodge's own trip-information page has a dedicated children's section, but it is an unfilled placeholder with no age given, so confirm a minimum age directly if you are travelling with a very young child.
Is Kikorongo Safari Lodge inside Queen Elizabeth National Park?
The lodge never says. Its own site places it on a hill in Kikorongo village in Kasese, on the equator, ringed by the Rwenzori on one side and the park on the other, 38 km east of Mpondwe. That description points to a position outside the park without confirming it, so ask directly whether a stay includes a daily entry fee.
