Enjojo Lodge

Cottages, safari tents and campsite · Ishasha, three hundred metres from the Katookye gate · Not named on the lodge's own site. The Enjojo Wildlife Foundation is the affiliated conservation arm.

Mid-range Outside the gate Owner/family-run

Enjojo sits three hundred metres outside the Katookye gate of the Ishasha sector, on its own forty hectares beyond the boundary. The ladder runs from a $15 camping pitch to an en-suite cottage on full board, which is unusual this far south. Ishasha's fig tree lions are through the gate, Bwindi is the onward run, and Mweya is three hours to the north.

What the park charges on top

The rate above buys you a bed. Queen Elizabeth National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Park entryCharged per 24 hours rather than per night.
$40per person, per day
VehicleA Ugandan-registered 4x4, the usual hire car, at UGX 30,000; a foreign-registered 4x4 pays $150.
$8per vehicle, per day

Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $264 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.

Entry is sold in 24-hour blocks that begin when you pass the gate, so a trip that starts at midday and ends at 16:00 two days later is charged as three days, not two.

Every figure on this page is in US dollars.

Indicative 2026 rates, read in September 2026 from each property's own website, rate card or factsheet. Twenty-three of the forty-two publish a rack rate of their own. The other nineteen say on request, and no agent or tour operator figure has been used to fill a gap. Watch the basis, because it decides whether two numbers can be compared at all: some quote per person per night sharing, others per room, per tent or per cottage, and meals sit inside some rates and outside others. Park entry is extra almost everywhere at $40 per foreign non-resident adult per 24 hours, plus the vehicle, and the Kazinga Channel cruise is $30 on top.

Questions about Enjojo Lodge

Is Enjojo Lodge good for families?

Yes. Children under 5 stay free and those aged 5 to 12 get half off, across every room and tent category. There is also a private safari house with two bedrooms sleeping up to eight, which suits a larger family group. We found no further minimum age published beyond those two bands.

How much does it cost to stay at Enjojo Lodge?

Enjojo runs the widest ladder near Ishasha: camping from $15 self-catering up to $55 on full board, and an en-suite thatched cottage from $150 to $180 per person depending on board basis, all taxes and 18 percent VAT included. Park entry at $40 and a $20 UWA ranger fee are excluded. The rate card appears on the site as an image only, so read it carefully.

Can you self-drive to Enjojo Lodge?

The lodge sits 300 metres outside the Katookye gate of the Ishasha sector, on its own 40 hectares, which makes it an easy final stretch by road once you are in the area. No further self-drive directions are published, so confirm the exact turning with the lodge before you travel.

Is Enjojo Lodge good for a honeymoon?

No honeymoon package, plunge pool or private deck is described on the lodge's site. What it does offer is a wide range of room types, from camping to an en-suite thatched cottage on full board, so a couple could book the quieter end of that range, but nothing is marketed specifically as a honeymoon option.
