Kasenyi Safari Camp
Tented camp · Kasenyi plains, on the Lake Bunyampaka crater rim · No company named. The camp's own site credits a founder, Phillip, with building in 2013 and opening in 2015.
Kasenyi Safari Camp stands on the Bunyampaka crater rim on the Kasenyi plains, the best lion ground in the park and the departure point for the early morning drives. Whether it falls inside the boundary is unsettled, because Katwe and the salt pans form an enclave along this stretch. Mweya and the channel cruise are an easy morning away, while Ishasha is a three hour drive to the south.

What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Queen Elizabeth National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.
- Park entryCharged per 24 hours rather than per night.
- $40per person, per day
- VehicleA Ugandan-registered 4x4, the usual hire car, at UGX 30,000; a foreign-registered 4x4 pays $150.
- $8per vehicle, per day
Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $264 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.
Entry is sold in 24-hour blocks that begin when you pass the gate, so a trip that starts at midday and ends at 16:00 two days later is charged as three days, not two.
The full fee schedule for Queen Elizabeth National ParkRates at Kasenyi Safari Camp
On request. The camp publishes no tariff of any kind. It does list free wifi in the common areas and free laundry as included in a stay.
What the rate covers is not confirmed. We do not know yet whether meals, drinks and activities are included, so read this as the bed only.
Every figure on this page is in US dollars.
Indicative 2026 rates, read in September 2026 from each property's own website, rate card or factsheet. Twenty-three of the forty-two publish a rack rate of their own. The other nineteen say on request, and no agent or tour operator figure has been used to fill a gap. Watch the basis, because it decides whether two numbers can be compared at all: some quote per person per night sharing, others per room, per tent or per cottage, and meals sit inside some rates and outside others. Park entry is extra almost everywhere at $40 per foreign non-resident adult per 24 hours, plus the vehicle, and the Kazinga Channel cruise is $30 on top.
Questions about Kasenyi Safari Camp
How much does it cost to stay at Kasenyi Safari Camp?
Kasenyi Safari Camp publishes no tariff of any kind, so price is on request only. What it does list as included are free wifi in the common areas and free laundry during your stay. Email bookings@kasenyisafaricamp.com or call +256 756 992038 for a current quote, and confirm the board basis at the same time.
Is Kasenyi Safari Camp inside Queen Elizabeth National Park?
That is unsettled. The camp's homepage places it in the heart of the Kasenyi plains while its own about page says it borders the park. It actually stands on the rim of the Bunyampaka crater lake, where the salt works and village land form an enclave, so ask directly whether your stay includes a daily park entry fee.
Is Kasenyi Safari Camp good for a honeymoon?
It has honeymoon-friendly features even without a named package: all ten tented cottages sit on platforms under thatch with a private deck and lake views, king or twin beds and premium linens, and free laundry is included. No honeymoon package or plunge pool is mentioned, so ask about an upgrade if that matters to you.
Is Kasenyi Safari Camp good for families?
We found no child policy or minimum age on the camp's own site, so ask when you enquire. All ten cottages are built for king or twin occupancy rather than as family units, so a family of more than two per tent should confirm the sleeping arrangement before booking.
